Got Kids in Brum?

Do you have kids and are you new to Birmingham or are you planning a visit?

This is the “brain dump” of me, a local mum of two small children – it is where I go and what I tend to do with my children and visiting friends.  I live in Bearwood which is North West Birmingham/Smethwick which gives you an idea of whether what’s local to me will be for you, although I drive a fair bit.  The blog exists as I have summarised this sort of info for visiting friends on enough occasions to think, why not just stick it on the web and then I can just paste the link – perhaps it will be useful to someone else.

I will update it when I have a chance and have lots more places in mind so check back regularly or subscribe to the twitter feed or other options on the menu bar over there and down a bit —>.

Here come the caveats!   I don’t claim that it is remotely comprehensive, nor is it ever likely to be not least as clearly I can’t live everywhere and sometimes I don’t find a place merits a long entry.  Inevitably it will omit many treasures, and as my children are quite small, (born in 2007 and 2009),  the info it might not be relevant for older children.   It might not involve a single thing that is relevant to you or that your kids like.  Yes there probably are better resources out there.

I’d like the tone of the site to be fairly positive and accepting of the fact that even if me and mine or you and yours didn’t enjoy something maybe other people will.

In this spirit please do comment on the pages and add your experiences or thoughts about the venues and activities.  If you want to add a review of a place or activity that would be great – I’m totally open to suggestions. Email me and tell me what you have in mind.

I am not sure if reciprocal links are still fashionable, but if they’re along similar lines to this blog I’m open to suggestions.  Email again if you’d like to link up.

I think that’s all…. Is it bedtime yet?
