Cannon Hill Park / the mac.

The mac (Midland’s Arts Centre) is recently renovated and amazing place and one I want to spend more time at.  The cafe in particular is handy and good for kids, not least as the huge plastic chandelier is hypnotic.  They run many events and theatrical shows for children.

The park is huge with immense wide paths and several play areas, one almost totally consisiting of slides.  The paths run perilously close to the large ponds/lakes which make it rather terrifying if you have a learner cycler or unpredictable scooterer.  There is often a huge amount of people on rollerblades which looks like great fun.  There are stacks of wildlife and sporting themed events and it is the sort of place I want to learn much more about.  It is the venue for many large tented/festival events like Taste of Birmingham, and seasonal celebrations such as Eid and firework displays and many other family themed days.

There is a Nature Centre which I have created a separate post for as it is kind of separate in terms of parking and location.

There are ducks a plenty which are fairly well mannered, not like the angry birds at Rowleyheath 😉 so a good venue or toddler bread chucking.
